Aníbal Fájer is officially introduced as president of Atlas

At a press conference on Tuesday, Aníbal Fájer was officially presented as the new president of Atlas FC , replacing Argentine Germán Brunati , who stepped down after a year of management that failed to achieve his sporting goals. The presentation took place at the AGA Academy, where Fájer was accompanied by José Riestra , Global Director of Football at Orlegi Sports, and Alfonso Villalba , the group's General Manager.
Fájer, a 13-year veteran of Orlegi Sports, has been a key figure in historic moments for the club , such as the acquisition of the team, the organizational transformation that led to the two-time championship in 2021-2022, and the development of the AGA Academy. In his speech, he acknowledged that there is little room for maneuver after recent poor results and emphasized that there is no longer room for complacency at the Academy.
"On the one hand, you fall asleep, and on the other, you act out of fear. Our model is based on a focus on detail; those small details, in a team like ours, add up to a difference," Fájer said. "I've been asleep before, and I've been asleep. I'm responsible for the bad times we've been through. La Fiel is angry; this isn't the Atlas team they deserve, and we can't be asleep," he added.
José Riestra, for his part, admitted that the decisions made after the two-time championship led the team to a crisis . "We stopped doing the things we were supposed to do and stopped focusing on what we needed to focus on. We thought more individually and accepted it: management, players, and coaching staff. No one was spared here," he noted. "That's why we decided to appoint Aníbal; the only one capable, who knows, who understands, and can transform, is Aníbal," he concluded.
As part of the new structure, Eduardo Herrera will take over as Director of Sports Management and Álvaro García Rulfo as Director of Business.
