Thousands of people fill the Zócalo in the capital for Sheinbaum's first-year administration report.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- An hour before the start of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's speech at the close of her national tour for the first year of her administration, the capital's Zócalo was already packed this Sunday, October 5.
From early in the morning, thousands of people began arriving on foot, from the nearest metro stations or from where they were dropped off by buses and minibuses that transported them from different parts of the country.
On streets like 5 de Febrero and 16 de Septiembre, people walked with banners identifying their places of origin, as well as Mexican and Morena flags and signs supporting Sheinbaum.
Since the afternoon of Saturday the 4th, thousands of chairs have been arranged in square formations across the entire length of the Zócalo square, just as they were a year ago when the newly appointed president gave her first speech.
Thousands of people from various unions stood out in the spaces in front of the National Palace, distinguished by their orange flags or white flags with red lettering.
An hour before the speech began, the seats were already occupied and people began to linger on a section of 20 de Noviembre Avenue.
People began arriving early this Sunday from nearby streets such as 5 de Mayo and 16 de Septiembre.
As has been seen for years at every political event convened by Morena or its representatives, dozens of foreign trucks and minibuses bearing the names of various Mexico City municipalities occupy the streets surrounding the first square after transporting people and waiting for the report to be completed before returning them.
