The Government begins a month with five key elections and a complex outlook.

After finishing third in the election for constituents in Santa Fe, far behind Governor Maximiliano Pullaro's list and behind the Peronist party , the government is heading into a complex weekend in terms of elections . This is the last stop before the Buenos Aires elections. In San Luis, Jujuy, Salta, and Chaco , with different voting systems , the ruling party is deploying different strategies and with moderate expectations.
The agreement with the governors of the four districts forces the government to play fair and moderate its proposals, breaking the melody of the official narrative against the caste.
In San Luis, where 23 deputies and 4 senators are being elected by districts with the debut of the single paper ballot system, La Libertad Avanza will not have a candidate . The party's representative , Santiago Viola , who does not hold a position but does have an office in the Casa Rosada , prevented the creation of a violet list through an injunction issued by his delegates in the province. Senators Bartolomé Abdala and Ivanna Arrascaeta , who do not want competition in their district, celebrated this.
National deputy Carlos D'Alessandro - who was the top candidate in 2023 - was left wanting to be Milei's candidate in San Luis in his attempt to position himself for 2027. Now, the underlying fight is once again between the list of governor Claudio Poggi and that of his predecessor (and also successor) and former political boss Alberto Rodríguez Saá . The provincial leader has as a strong ally the brother of his adversary, the fleeting president Adolfo Rodríguez Saá .
Gustavo Sáenz (Salta), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Leandro Zdero (Chaco) and Claudio Poggi (San Luis)
Poggi's most recent statements about Milei reveal the affinity between the two . " He was a colleague, a friend, and a congressman before becoming president, and I became governor . The President is working on solving Argentina's macroeconomic situation, and I quickly realized that a governor, a mayor, should focus on microeconomics ," Poggi stated in a libertarian tone.
In Jujuy, on the other hand, the lists claiming to represent the President are multiplying. Three ballots—from the traditional system—in the voting booth will bear Milei's face , but only one is blessed by the Rosada (the Rosada House). This is Kevin Ballesty 's list, which refers to the leader of the Libertarian senators' bloc, Ezequiel Atauche. Santiago Caputo's influencers/officials traveled to Jujuy (and Salta) to bolster the candidate and target former governor Gerardo Morales. From Fat Dan to Agustín Romo and Iñaki Gutiérrez.
Morales's successor, Carlos Sadir, has a closer and better public understanding with the Rosada (Presidential Palace). Twenty-four deputies are up for election, and the provincial leader is putting 18 of the 31 seats the Radical Party holds in the legislature up for grabs . His candidate is Adriano Morone, the national president of the Radical Youth Party .
Peronism will collaborate with him by dispersing the votes. The local PJ (Party of the Judiciary) intervenors, ordered by Cristina Kirchner , Aníbal Fernández and Gustavo Menéndez, are putting forward candidate Noemí Isasmendi, who answers to national deputy Leila Chaher of La Cámpora . On the other side, the Somos Más Front is nominating Carlos De Aparici, an ally of national senator Carolina Moisés, who voted in favor of the RIGI, answers to José Mayans, and has just fractured the Peronist bloc in the Upper House.
The Left Front, which usually has good elections in the province, has Alejandro Vilca as its first candidate.
Salta Governor Gustavo Sáenz, like his neighbors Osvaldo Jaldo of Tucumán and Raúl Jalil of Catamarca, also provided support in Congress in exchange for assistance and resources.
Karina Milei, with Governor Gustavo Sáenz and Martín Menem in Salta.
In the capital, he has two lists supporting him. Vamos Salta, led by former Mining Secretary Flavia Royón —who was ousted from the government last year—and Guillermo Kripper. Both have Bernardo Biella , Alfredo Olmedo's former vice-governor candidate, as their candidate for the provincial senate.
The outsider famous for his yellow jacket, expelled from Parlasur in 2024, kept an eye on the local libertarian organization. The dispersion of what was JxC plays in the governor's favor in the elections to renew 31 deputy seats and 12 senators , with a single electronic ballot. The national ruling party hopes to use this fragmentation lost in October to secure one of the three senators .
Amid a national ruling party running behind ahead of the most important race in the city, Karina Milei has enabled an electoral alliance with the party led by Chaco governor Leandro Zdero. This will likely represent the only victory before the Buenos Aires elections, which are still open-ended, and society will seal a Peronist victory.
The President's sister authorized an exception to her own party purity rules and allowed LLA to share the ticket—in second place—with Chaco Puede. She also requested, as Mauricio Macri pointed out in recent hours, that the PRO party be excluded and that it could only endorse the candidacy.
Sixteen provincial deputies are being elected using a single paper ballot . The underlying battle is between the Radical governor and his predecessor , Jorge Capitanich, who will be a candidate for the local legislature and will likely run again in October in the national race for senators. This calculation is of greater interest to the Rosada than the provincial legislatures; these are obligatory stops that affect the narrative leading up to the congressional renewal election.
