Judicial candidates in Quintana Roo will participate in open public forums

The Quintana Roo Electoral Institute (IEQROO) announced that candidates for judges and magistrates in the State Judicial Branch will be able to participate in public forums to present themselves to the public and make their proposals known.
According to the IEQROO, those interested in participating in the forums can register from May 1 to 10. To do so, they must submit a written application to the Institute's headquarters or by email.
The forums will be held from May 12 to 20. Those aspiring to become judges will participate remotely, while those seeking a magistrate position will do so in person at the IEQROO meeting room in Chetumal.
During the forums, each participant will be able to speak about their academic, professional, and employment backgrounds, as well as their views on the administration of justice. The use of voice will be the only means permitted to express ideas; they will not be allowed to use technological devices or receive outside assistance.
In addition, the Institute is committed to disseminating the forums through social media such as Facebook and YouTube, with translations into Mayan and Mexican Sign Language, to ensure access to the entire population.
The IEQROO clarified that these activities are organized under the principles of impartiality, legality, and maximum publicity. Proselytizing, rallies, or propaganda within the venue where the forums are held is also prohibited.
