The General Directorate of Fine Arts highlights its cultural agenda

The General Directorate of Fine Arts (DGBA), under the direction of maestro Marinella Sallent, continues to consolidate itself as a benchmark of Dominican culture with an outstanding programming in dance, theater and music, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture .
In 2024, the institution was recognized by the General Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity (Digeig) for its commitment to transparency and access to public information . In addition, it received certification from the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) with the Commitment Letter, standing out for meeting quality standards in its services.
In terms of artistic dissemination , the DGBA organized 68 activities with around 70,000 attendees and its companies performed 144 functions, including international and domestic presentations.
The National Theatre Company , the Dominican National Ballet and the Dominican Travelling Theatre stood out with national and international tours, representing the Dominican Republic in international festivals.
In terms of visual arts , the National Gallery of Fine Arts reopened with the first International Contemporary Art Fair FIACI 2024, welcoming more than 6,000 attendees.
- In addition, the DGBA carried out a series of improvements to its infrastructure , including the reopening of the Máximo Avilés Blonda hall, and modernized the National Conservatory of Music and the School of Fine Arts of Santiago.
- These actions consolidate its role as a fundamental pillar of Dominican culture and position it for an even more ambitious 2025, when it will celebrate its 85th anniversary.
