Heavy rains will continue on Wednesday; caution is advised in these areas.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Showers to very heavy rains with intense downpours are expected for most of the country this Wednesday, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported.
The National Water Commission (Conagua) warned of rainfall with lightning and possible hail, as well as the risk of flooding and puddles for July 16.
During Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, the Mexican monsoon in the northwest will bring very heavy rainfall to Sonora and Chihuahua, heavy rainfall to Durango, Sinaloa, and Nayarit, and scattered showers to Baja California and Baja California Sur.
Winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h are also expected in Baja California and Sonora.
Meanwhile, low-pressure channels over the Northern Mesa, the Central Mesa, and the northeast of the country, combined with atmospheric instability and the entry of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, will generate intense rainfall in Michoacán (north and west), very heavy rainfall in Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Colima, Guanajuato, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, and Morelos; as well as heavy rainfall in Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, and Puebla.
Tropical wave 12, over the southern part of Mexico, will cause heavy rainfall in Guerrero (southeast, east, and northwest) and Oaxaca (west). Finally, a low-pressure trough over southeastern Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula, combined with the influx of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, will produce heavy rainfall in Veracruz, Chiapas, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, with showers in Campeche. Scattered rain is also expected in Tabasco.
The aforementioned rains will be accompanied by lightning and possible hail. In addition, strong storms could cause river and stream levels to rise, causing ponding, landslides, and flooding.
Monsoon and tropical waveFor Wednesday, the Mexican monsoon will maintain conditions for very heavy rains in Chihuahua, with heavy rainfall in Sonora, Durango, Sinaloa, and Nayarit, as well as scattered showers on the Baja California Peninsula.
On the other hand, low-pressure channels will develop over the Northern Mesa, the Central Mesa, and the northeast of the country, interacting with a cyclonic circulation at high levels and atmospheric instability. Tropical wave 12 will move south of the coast of Colima, causing heavy to very heavy rains with lightning in the northern, northeastern, and southern states of the country. Hail is also possible in the western, central, and eastern parts of the country.
Heavy rains are forecast in Jalisco (southeast), Colima (north and west), and Michoacán (west). Strong wind gusts of 50 to 70 km/h are also forecast in Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas.
Tropical wave 12 is expected to continue moving westward and no longer affect the country by the end of the day.
In addition, low-pressure channels over southeastern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula, combined with the influx of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, will cause showers and heavy rain in both regions.
Finally, hot to very hot weather will continue over areas in the northwest and north of Mexico, as well as extremely hot weather with temperatures exceeding 45°C in northeastern Baja California.
Valley of MexicoPartly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected throughout the day. Cool weather is expected in the region in the morning, followed by colder weather and fog in the highlands of the Valley of Mexico.
In the afternoon, mild weather will be expected with a chance of showers and heavy rainfall in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, accompanied by lightning and possible hail.
The minimum temperature for Mexico City will be 12 to 14°C and the maximum will be 24 to 26°C. Toluca is expected to have a minimum temperature of 8 to 10°C and a maximum of 19 to 21°C.
