WhatsApp is preparing a feature to organize chat replies in thread format.

WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to organize chat responses into structured threads, making it easier for users to follow multiple conversations in a single chat , organized by topic .
In an effort to improve the user experience, Meta's instant messaging platform aims to offer a simpler way to navigate conversations, which will be composed of more organized responses rather than multiple individual messages.
To this end, WhatsApp has begun testing a message threading feature for chats. This will automatically organize responses into a threaded format—similar to the structure used on other platforms like Discord or Slack —grouping them based on related conversation topics within a single chat.
This was shared by the specialized media WaBetaInfo, which was able to access this new feature after the release of the latest beta update of WhatsApp for Android (2.25.25.8) .
Specifically, instead of displaying messages separated into speech bubbles as they are sent or received, this new system identifies the topics being discussed in the conversation and automatically organizes responses by grouping them into threads on those topics.
This way, replies related to a topic will be directly linked to the original message that started the conversation. To access these threaded messages, simply click a new reply button that appears in the main message and displays the number of grouped replies.
This option allows you to keep the chat more structured , especially when it comes to a conversation where several topics are being discussed at the same time, making it easier to follow information. Especially in large groups, it will prevent, for example, important messages from getting lost between multiple replies.
The aforementioned outlet also noted that it will be possible to add new replies to the thread, which will automatically link to the latest message. Similarly, users will be able to reply to a reply message in the thread, which will be displayed as a "Follow-up Reply."
Please note that threads will only be created for messages sent after the feature was activated, so previous replies will not be included in these groupings.
However, this threading feature for messages has only just begun testing with some users in beta, so it's not yet available.
