To "plug loopholes" through which Chinese products enter Mexico under unfair competition conditions and are then transported via satellite countries to the U.S., the steel industry has asked the Ministry of Economy to exclude its goods from temporary duty-free import programs for maquila in the country, such as IMMEX.
