* In this first stage, the hospital will have 31 beds; the second stage will be inaugurated in a year and a half, and will have a total of 216 beds.
* The Head of the Federal Executive, recalled that in the relationship with the United States, they negotiate as equals, with cooperation and without subordination, so she trusts that there will be an agreement.
In Baja California, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the inauguration of the first phase of the Mexican Social Security Institute's (IMSS) Regional General Hospital No. 23 in Ensenada. The hospital will benefit more than 318,000 beneficiaries, with the second phase expected to be completed in a year and a half.
“We will continue to move forward because there is a lot of conviction on the part of our leaders, but, above all, the conviction of those who are part of public health institutions. For years, it was said that the private sector was better than the public sector, and everything was privatized, from state-owned companies to the gradual privatization of health services and higher education. And the big difference is that we, our conviction, is that health is not a privilege, not a commodity to be bought, but rather a right of the people of Mexico established in the 4th Constitution, and every day we will improve the supply system and the health systems throughout our country,” he emphasized.
In its first phase, Ensenada's Regional General Hospital No. 23 has 31 beds, 32 specialties, 40 outpatient clinics, two outpatient surgery rooms, 30 hemodialysis machines, 12 outpatient dialysis locations, and four endoscopy rooms.
In addition, the Federal Chief Executive announced that she has authorized an investment of 430 million pesos (mdp) this year to strengthen the IMSS Bienestar (Mexican Social Security Institute) in the state by fully operationalizing all hospitals, health centers, and operating rooms with the necessary equipment and personnel.
He noted that they work with the United States government in coordination and cooperation, and therefore assured that an agreement will always be reached on an equal footing.
“We will reach an agreement with the United States government, but it is very important that all Mexicans know that we will never negotiate anything that goes against the people of Mexico. We are clear about our principles: Mexico is a free, independent, and sovereign country. We negotiate as equals, we coordinate, we collaborate, but we never subordinate ourselves. Mexico is a great place, with an extraordinary people, and that will always be the President's position,” she added.
