Aid of up to 25,000 euros for each rice farmer in Valencia who is still unable to grow due to the DANA (National Agricultural Development Plan).

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food has published a list of aid grants totaling €395,340 for the 107 farmers with rice farms in the Albufera region of Valencia who are unable to plant rice this season due to the accumulation of sludge on their land as a result of the DANA (Flood Flood) on October 29.
The total affected area is 142.53 hectares. The government has provided this extraordinary aid to compensate these farmers for their loss of income, according to the department headed by Luis Planas.
Specifically, the aid is set at €3,000 per hectare , with a minimum of €200 per hectare and a maximum of €25,000 per hectare. Beneficiaries will receive the aid amount in their current accounts in the coming days. The list of beneficiaries is available on the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) website.
The beneficiaries are natural or legal persons, or entities without legal personality, owners of agricultural holdings that have been eligible for direct aid from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the 2024 campaign and whose farms have irrigated cropland in traditional rice-growing areas.
The State Agricultural Insurance Entity (Enesa) has confirmed the impossibility of proceeding with sowing under optimal conditions that guarantee the viability of the crop, according to reports prepared for this purpose by the Spanish Association of Combined Agricultural Insurance Entities (Agroseguro).
This is de minimis aid, in accordance with European Commission Regulation 1408/2013. Other aid in this category received by the beneficiaries has been taken into account in its calculation.
For producers who had already received other minimum aid in the last three years, the amount of rice aid has been reduced to within the limit established by regulations for this type of aid, which is €50,000.
The receipt of this extraordinary support is incompatible with any CAP aid for rice cultivation in the 2025 agricultural campaign.
With the publication of this list of grants, the payment of aid to beneficiaries affected by Valencian rice producers affected by the Dana virus is finalized. Farmers who believe they are entitled to this aid and are not listed, or who disagree with the amount awarded, may file an appeal with the Ministry.
