Oscar nominees gather for traditional photo op

Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody, Timothée Chalamet and Fernanda Torres were some of the nominees for the 97th edition of the Oscars who met on Tuesday night at the Academy Museum in Hollywood to take the traditional photo of the most prestigious awards in the film industry.
The event took place after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the cancellation of its Luncheon , which was scheduled for February 10, as a show of solidarity with the victims of the fires that ravaged Los Angeles in January.
This meeting, which usually took place in the morning and a few days before the voting deadline for academics expired, brought together in the museum lobby nominees, Academy governors and members of the press, who socialized for about an hour before the photo was taken.
Some of those present were experiencing the event for the first time , including musician Adrian Quesada, nominated for best original song for "Like a Bird" from the film Sing Sing, who said he was grateful to have a "warm-up" like this so he wouldn't be a complete novice at the ceremony on March 2.
Others more seasoned in the festive atmosphere, such as Adrien Brody, star of The Brutalist , Edward Norton and Timothée Chalamet, both nominated for A Complete Unknown , walked more confidently around the place and chatted among themselves, while producers, directors and other colleagues approached to congratulate them.

The actresses also shared a significant moment with Monica Barbaro ( A Complete Unknown ), Mikey Madison ( Anora ) and Zoe Saldaña ( Emilia Pérez ).
"My face at the Screen Actors Guild Awards said it all, I'm not used to this," responded Saldaña, who has been one of the big winners this season, winning Best Supporting Actress at awards such as the Golden Globes, Critics Choice and BAFTA.
For her part, the nominee for best actress Fernanda Torres ( I'm Still Here ), who could give Brazil its first Oscar, said very excitedly: "I survived!" "I don't even remember what it feels like to be tired because I don't even know what time zone I live in." , added the protagonist of Walter Salles' film, also nominated for best international film.
Torres said that when speaking to fellow nominee Isabella Rossellini, she wondered how it was possible for some actors to endure this chaotic back-and-forth of awards year after year. "And this won't end until Sunday," she added.

The dinner also brought together activist and actress Jane Fonda and The Substance director Coralie Fargeat, the only woman nominated in the best director category.
The celebration missed the presence of other protagonists of this season such as Kieran Culkin ( A Real Pain ), Guy Pearce ( The Brutalist ) or Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez ), who, despite the controversy generated by the comments with racist and xenophobic overtones that resurfaced on the Internet, is expected to attend the gala on March 2.
The 97th edition of the Oscars will be held this coming Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where the film Emilia Pérez starts as the most nominated of the night with 13 of them.
