In praise of unimposed order

One of the most unique articles published during Lluís Permanyer's lifetime (he left 11 more) was "Barcelona residents strolled in an unimposed order," which appeared in La Vanguardia last August. In it, the columnist praised the spontaneous civility of our 19th-century ancestors who, faced with the confines of public space—specifically, Calle Ferran—opted, without any orders, to walk in perfect and democratic lines.
