An event titled "Everyone to Remove the Florinda Sculpture" was created on Facebook. Its description reads: "It's enough to be 'soft-core' about them burning our town. Let's remove the sculpture of shame."
So far, more than 2,000 people have confirmed their attendance at the event against “La Vieja Chancluda.” , as some people call Meza, and another 15,000 have expressed interest. Some users have even offered lodging and organized trips from other locations, such as Mexico City.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, although it is not yet known whether the statue's removal will actually take place.

"She's already moved to another office. I've heard from very good sources that she's preparing a super lawsuit for the defamation that has been levied against her in the story told by Roberto Gómez Bolaños's son," Alvarado said.
