Book Fair 2025: Today's Recommended Books, April 29

There are no less interesting days at the 49th edition of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair , and Tuesday of the second week has plenty to offer. From the loves of Jorge Luis Borges to a journey through the legacy of Carl Gustav Jung and a conference to discover the potential of cryptocurrencies . At the Clarín Ñ Cultural Space at 6 p.m. , Un mate con Martín Bossi will take place, with the famous actor who will review his career in an open interview with Clarín .

At 4:00 PM, "Carl Gustav Jung: Life, Work, and Legacy" begins. One hundred and fifty years after his birth, the legacy of Carl Gustav Jung lives on. His discoveries about the Collective Unconscious, the archetypes of the Solar Hero, the Great Mother, the Wise Old Man, synchronicity, parapsychological dreams, prophetic dreams, and—above all—the Principle of Individuation, which seeks to create unique and unrepeatable individuals, will be topics covered in this course. It will be held in the Alfonsina Storni Room.
At the same time, in the Alejandra Pizarnik room, the "Cryptocurrencies" panel will answer the following questions: What are cryptocurrencies? How are they purchased and stored? What taxes are paid? Mining, scam prevention, and more.

An hour later, money will be left behind because the theme will be love: in the Future Zone, Patricio Zunini invites Borges Enamorado : a meeting to explore how love and heartbreak defined the life, poetry and narrative of Jorge Luis Borges.
Also linked to poetry is the workshop titled "Dime Alfonsina ," which, starting at 5:30 p.m., invites young authors ages 5 to 12 to try their hand at creative writing. It will be held in the Children's Zone workshop.
At the same time, two tributes will take place. The first will be for Peruvian Nobel Prize winner in Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa, which will be held by journalists Juan Cruz Ruiz and Jorge Fernández Díaz in the Victoria Ocampo room. And at the stand of the Xunta de Galicia, the 75th anniversary of the death of Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao will be commemorated. The writer, illustrator, and politician who marked the history of the 20th century in Galicia and also in Spain will be remembered. Henrique Monteagudo, Marcos Calveiro, Miguel Anxo Seixas, and Tamara Andrés will participate.

Always at 5:30 p.m., physician Daniel López Rosetti will present "Narrating Medicine, Narrating Life" in a conversation with Flavia Pittella in the Alejandra Pizarnik Room.
To close the day, two activities at 7 pm. First, the Saer Reading Marathon , in honor of dazzling literature that stands the test of time in the style of universal classics of the 20th century such as Joyce or Borges, the Reading Marathon - an activity that has been consolidated for years at the Book Fair - will be dedicated to Juan José Saer. Mauricio Kartun, Cristina Banegas, Irina Alonso, Ingrid Pelicori, Martín Kohan, Alberto Díaz, Agustina Bazterrica, Jorge Fondebrider, Nurit Kazstelan, Rubén Szuchmacher, Franco Torchia, Mariela Asensio and Florencia Abbate will participate, with the coordination of the critic Alejandra Rodríguez Ballester in Zona Futuro.

And second, historian Eduardo Lazzari, a great expert on Argentine history, will discuss the history and current presence of Freemasonry in dialogue with Pablo Lázaro, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Argentina of Free and Accepted Masons. Organized by the Grand Lodge of Argentina of Free and Accepted Masons, the event will take place in the Ernesto Sabato Hall.
