Two vehicles caught fire in different locations in the municipality of Teocaltiche; the cause has not yet been determined.

Unofficial sources report that at approximately 8:50 p.m. this Wednesday, State Regional Police officers were conducting surveillance on Juan Pablo II Boulevard and Orquídea, in the El Puente neighborhood of said municipality, when they observed a fire in a vehicle parked on a property, and requested the intervention of the municipal Civil Protection to extinguish it.

Preliminary reports indicate that the burned vehicle was an older model Ford pickup truck.

A little over half an hour later, officers received a report of another burning vehicle, this one on Aristeo Ruiz and Martín Triana streets, in the El Santuario neighborhood.

According to unofficial sources, officers also observed a parked pickup truck, apparently an older model Ford Windstar; the fire was already under control by municipal firefighters.

In neither case were there any witnesses who could confirm or corroborate that either fire had been started arson. No injuries were reported in either case.

A Public Prosecutor's Office agent was notified of both incidents, and will be responsible for issuing reports to determine whether the incident was a short circuit or some other cause.

Although it has not been confirmed whether the fire was arson, just hours earlier, a man was shot and killed on a public street in the El Tanque neighborhood, a few blocks from the center of the municipality of Teocaltiche.

Authorities from the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office processed the scene. Initial investigations point to a direct assault.
