MONTERREY, NL.- Amid the mobility crisis in Monterrey and its metropolitan area, it was revealed that only Metro Line 6, which runs from Fundidora to the Airport, would be completed by then for the 2026 World Cup.
However, Line 4, whose section runs through Constitución, is not yet completed and could cause further chaos in the area.

"Well, they've told us that the Airport-Fundidora section will be ready to run to the Airport, but Constitución, I imagine not," revealed one of the organizers of the Monterrey Cup during a meeting with Salitillense businessmen.
He mentioned that state authorities have not acknowledged that the line running along Constitución Avenue will not be completed by the required date, but specialists have commented that "technically it is unfeasible."
He also commented that they are pushing authorities to make improvements to the infrastructure surrounding the BBVA stadium, where the Copa matches will be played.
He mentioned that some time ago he toured the stadium area with Guadalupe Mayor Héctor García and observed its conditions.
"I tell him: Hector, look to the left, there's a World Cup stadium and Cerro de la Silla is really cool...look to the right and it looks like Afghanistan," he said.
He added that he assured the mayor that the World Cup is an opportunity to install security cameras, paving, and lighting , among other things.
"If there weren't a World Cup, I probably wouldn't have the resources to make these changes. So the same goes for the Metro," he asserted.
The organizer stated that for more than two years , two working groups have been established with two themes : transportation and mobility, as well as security.
"We've been working on transportation and mobility issues, and it's also a permanent meeting. There are specialists in the FIFA Mexico office, there are specialists in Miami, we already have a working group here, and we already have a preliminary draft of a mobility plan," he shared.
He announced that a park and ride system will be announced in the city.
"The stadium perimeter is going to be expanded to what FIFA calls 'The Last Mile.' So there will be access control, unlike what you're used to today, practically at the stadium gate," he revealed.
He specified that anyone inside that perimeter will have their ticket or accreditation scanned.
In the case of the stadium parking lot, these will be commercial and activation areas, so other options are being considered, such as Tolteca Park or the adjacent land, as well as Expo Guadalupe.
