The funeral chapel of Manuel de la Calva, one half of the Dynamic Duo, opens this Wednesday at the SGAE.

The funeral procession for the member of the Dúo Dinámico, singer Manuel de la Calva, who died this Tuesday at the age of 88, will be held this Wednesday at the SGAE headquarters in Madrid, starting at eleven o'clock, according to sources from the institution.

The SGAE (Spanish Association of Spanish Musicians) has specifically honored the singer as an "eternal composer" and a member of its Board of Directors. "The weight of our beloved Manuel's repertoire, often alongside @ramonarcusa ( Ramón Arcusa ), is crucial to understanding Spanish music for decades to come. There are no words to express my gratitude for his work, which future generations will undoubtedly continue to remember," the SGAE added in a post on its X account.

De la Calva had been a member of SGAE since 1960 and had recorded 766 works, many of them for the Dúo Dinámico, "the emblem of modern Spanish music," but also for other internationally renowned artists. In 2024, along with Arcusa, they received the #SGAE Medal of Honor for the Dúo Dinámico.

"His songs have accompanied the changes that have taken place in Spain and demonstrate the importance that the creator has for society," said SGAE President Antonio Onetti, who sent his "sympathy to the family and loved ones of Manuel de la Calva and a big hug to our member Ramón Arcusa, his colleague and brother."

"Manuel de la Calva, author and musician, has passed away, but his work lives on forever. Thank you, maestro," concludes the SGAE .

"Your legacy is eternal"

Friends, family, colleagues, and political figures mourned the passing of one half of the Dynamic Duo. Upon hearing the news, they all agreed that "his legacy is eternal."

"I'm lucky to say that I sang with the Dúo Dinámico; Manolo and Ramón were always professionals and, above all, charming people. I'll always remember those moments. Your music and your spirit will live on forever; your legacy is eternal. Manolo. Rest in peace," singer Carlos Baute said on 'X'.

For its part, the group Amaral has recalled on this social network the meeting they had with the Dúo Dinámico in a post accompanied by a photo of the vocalist, Eva Amaral , with both performers: " That day we talked about music, Jimmy Page and a thousand wonderful stories after a lifetime on stage. With this photo with the Dúo Dinámico at the Sonorama festival we want to remember Manuel de la Calva and send a big hug to his family and friends. RIP."

The Film Academy also had words of remembrance for the singer, recounting his film career: "Manuel de la Calva, half of the Dynamic Duo and actor in the films 'Búsqueme a esa chica', 'Una chica para dos', 'Botón de ancla' and 'País SA', has passed away."

From the SGAE, the institution's president, Antonio Onetti, stated on this network that Manuel de la Calva's songs "have accompanied the changes that have taken place in Spain and demonstrate the importance that the creator has for society."

"We want to send our condolences to the family and loved ones of Manuel de la Calva and a big hug to our member Ramón Arcusa , his colleague and brother," said Onetti. The singer was a member of the Board of Directors of this organization and in 2024, along with Arcusa, received the SGAE Medal of Honor.

The political world also had words of remembrance for the singer, whose funeral will be held this Wednesday at the SGAE headquarters in Madrid, starting at 11:00 a.m.

"My condolences to the family and friends of the Barcelona musician Manuel de la Calva, the soul of the Dúo Dinámico. The vital memory of many generations is inseparable from the songs of the Dúo Dinámico, pioneers of pop music in our country and with a very extensive professional career recognized everywhere. Rest in peace," said the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa , on 'X'.

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso , has joined in the condolences for the death of Manuel de la Calva: "Our deepest condolences to Ramón Arcusa, his family and friends.
