C5 Michoacán received reports of the presence of armed men and explosions in the vicinity of La Ruana, which triggered a joint operation between state and federal forces.

Personnel from the Civil Guard's Specialized Group on Explosive Devices and Hazardous Materials patrolled rural roads and paths in the community, where they located the devices along with a 40-millimeter grenade.
