Protest in Cancun: Quintana Roo teachers call for a work stoppage

CANCUN.- Hundreds of teachers from Quintana Roo protested in Cancun and announced that they will begin a work stoppage starting tomorrow.
The demonstration was held against the ISSSTE Law , and has accumulated the support of teachers from other parts of the country.
This Wednesday, around three thousand protesters marched along the main avenues such as Bonampak , Cobá and Tulum , until they reached the Plaza de la Reforma to express their disagreement with the ISSSTE Law.
Representatives of the teaching profession were present at the mobilization, calling for a work stoppage in the region.
The call included municipalities such as Tulum, Playa del Carmen , Lázaro Cárdenas and Benito Juárez and even indicated the possibility of including a protest in the Hotel Zone of Cancún.
This is because an event with legislators will be held at that site.

Teachers who will remain “on standby” will remain attentive to the decisions of federal authorities regarding legislation, which they consider violates their rights.
They will also continue to invite more fellow educators to join their movement to demand better conditions and compliance with government commitments.
