Man charged with abusing a 7-year-old girl in Merida

The FGE brought charges against a man accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl in Mérida, who assaulted her in the Santa Rosa neighborhood.

Mérida, Yucatán.- Accused of forcing copulation on a seven-year-old girl, GOCA was linked to the crime of aggravated rape , after the contribution of expert evidence by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE).

The suspect will remain deprived of his liberty while the case against him develops, under the precautionary measure of official preventive detention .

The events, according to the investigation and which gave rise to this complaint, occurred on a property in the Santa Rosa neighborhood in Mérida , where the accused attacked his victim , whose identity has been withheld.

In a bulletin from the FGE Yucatán, it is indicated that the hearing held in the Second Control Court of the First District, the litigation prosecutors argued and obtained the link to the process against the accused after the evidence documents contained under criminal case 15/2025 .

A three-month period was granted for the completion of the complementary investigation.
