House of Representatives receives reform against reelection and nepotism

The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies reported on the receipt of the minutes sent by the Senate of the Republic regarding the reform against reelection and nepotism , proposed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.
The ruling was referred to the Joint Committees on Constitutional Matters and Electoral Political Reform for analysis.

With changes approved by the Upper House, Morena senators Félix Salgado Macedonio and Saúl Monreal Ávila could participate in the midterm elections for the governorship of Guerrero and Zacatecas , respectively.

Senate approves reform against nepotism and non-reelectionThe Senate approved that the ban on nepotism would come into effect in 2030, and not in 2027, as originally proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
