A Cordoban caused a stir on TikTok after sharing a fact many didn't know about Italy's beaches.

He's from Córdoba and chased a thief and recovered a cell phone: the video that exploded on social media

From the island of Sicily, he recorded a video that quickly garnered thousands of views and sparked a heated debate in the comments.

"I don't know if you knew this, but not all beaches in Italy are free," he began in the recording. He later clarified, "This doesn't mean you can't freely enter the water," but explained that to stay in certain areas, you have to pay.

As shown in the video, many Italian beaches have concession areas for hotels or private companies. In these areas, visitors must rent at least an umbrella or lounge chair to stay. "So, they end up managing it for commercial purposes," said the young man, who seemed surprised by this approach.

He's from Cordoba, he moved to Italy and showed how much it cost him to shop at a supermarket.

The post gathered comments from users around the world. While some expressed outrage at what they considered a privatization of public space—"The only thing missing is a charge to get into the water" or "Too bad, beaches should always be public"—others pointed out that the same thing happens in several countries. "In Brazil, you also have to pay for umbrellas and beach chairs," commented one user.
