Eagles in doubt for Washington after Super Bowl

Even without an official statement from either side, the Philadelphia Eagles have yet to decide whether they will visit the White House and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, beyond rumors about a general refusal by the Super Bowl LIX champions.
Sources in the US indicated that a White House official, who requested to remain anonymous, assured that negotiations between the US government and the NFL champion team are just beginning, without having a set date yet to define it.

Hours earlier, it had been unofficially announced that the position of most of the Philadelphia team would be not to visit the official house of the US government, given the differences with President Trump's ideology.
According to The Sun US portal, a player from the champion team, who also preferred to remain anonymous, said the team's general position is to refuse an official invitation to visit Washington, due to these differences that he even highlighted with quotes from the supposed Philadelphia player.
"We represent a city and a state that fights for equal rights , respect and values that protect all human beings. We will not forget what happened in the past or the criticism we received for taking a stand against racism. We will not back down on our values of respect, integrity and equality," the website said.
White House closedAlready during his first term in office, Donald Trump had cancelled official invitations from sports teams to the White House, which led to the Eagles not enjoying their first NFL title in 2018 at the White House.
The differences between Donald Trump and the Philadelphia Eagles date back several years when the businessman also expressed his discontent with the protests of players during ceremonies at NFL games, including kneeling during the US National Anthem.
