Veneto boasts Italy's most sustainable campsites and tourist villages.

The campsites and the most sustainable tourist villages in Italy. This is established by the strict criteria applied by eAmbiente, present at the Open Forum Air, the national event of Faita Federcamping that has concluded yesterday, October 23, in Rome. Five structures were awarded national level, all Venetian: the Tourist Village International Airport of Bibione (Venice), the Marina di Venezia and Union Lido di Cavallino Treporti (Venice), the Bergamini campsite of Peschiera del Garda (Verona) and the La Quercia campsite in Lazise (Verona). Among the requirements requested, those related to the level of governance, of well-being and health, mobility, accessibility, circularity, staff training, welfare policies, efficiency energy, climate change mitigation programs. Veneto confirms its leadership in the quality of open-air tourism facilities, and represents an example virtuous for Italian companies, which already in several regions they are making a leap forward thanks to investments carried out in terms of sustainability and hospitality. The data from these two days shows a positive season, in continuity with the records set by the open air in the last three years. "Now that momentum is turning into development structural that rewards the investments of our companies that they have further raised the level of the offer and improved sustainability, accessibility and performance digitalization. Furthermore, the growth compared to 2024 of campsite occupancy highlighted at the Forum (+3.3%) and the increase in estimated attendance (74 million against 73 million of 2024) make it clear that we are on the right track. Contrary to some assessments of the summer's progress 2025, for our sector the season went well" he explains Alberto Granzotto, president of Faita Federcamping. The first estimates by Faita Federcamping indicate 8.5 billion euros of total turnover (both direct and induced) of the sector, with an increase of 0.5 billion in the last season. Open air in Italy has around 2600 structures with over 100,000 employees and offers 1.3 million beds per day.
