Udine, grants for veterinary care: a help for citizens and their pets.

Helping those experiencing financial hardship to care for their pets. With this goal in mind, the Municipality of Udine has launched a call for applications for grants on veterinary expenses incurred in 2024, covering up to 100% of the costs, up to a maximum of €1,000 per animal. "The bond with our animals is fundamental, especially in times of crisis," explained Councilor for Animal Welfare Rosi Toffano. "We want to be close to those who cannot afford veterinary care." Councilor for Social Equity Stefano Gasparin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the value of animals as emotional support against loneliness and isolation, particularly for the elderly and those living alone. The call is open to residents with an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) of less than €12,000, or those over 65 with an income of up to €25,000. Applications can be submitted by September 30, 2025, via email, certified email, or in person at the Municipality's Protocol Office. A regionally funded initiative that recognizes the role of pets not only in the lives of individual citizens but also in the social well-being of the community.
