The extraordinary evening openings at the Vittoriano are back

Following the great success of the last edition, the Vive-Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia renew the appointment with the extraordinary evening openings of the Vittoriano. A unique opportunity for citizens and tourists to admire a heritage of absolute artistic and cultural importance in the suggestive Roman summer evenings. From Monday 2 June - on the occasion of the 79th Republic Day of which the Altare della Patria represents the heart of the celebrations - and then every Friday until 26 September, the Vittoriano, including the Panoramic Terrace, will extend its opening hours until 11.30 pm, with last entry at 10.45 pm. Every evening there will be workshops reserved for children and families (at 7.30 pm) and guided tours for adults (at 8.00 pm) entrusted by the Institute to Opera Laboratori Fiorentini. An even richer program this year that allows the public to admire the majestic spaces of the monument to the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, to learn about its history and to enjoy an unprecedented view of Rome while having an aperitif at the Caffetteria. The jewel in the crown is the Panoramic Terrace where, among the winged Victories, the starry sky and the lights, visitors can look down on Rome and capture a unique image of the eternal city, to be treasured as a memento of the experience. And again, the Sommoportico and its Propylaea - reopened to the public last year after a long period of closure - allow those who walk through them to grasp the ambition of the project by Giuseppe Sacconi, winner in 1884 of the competition for the Vittoriano, as well as to fully perceive the relationship between the architecture and the surrounding urban context.
