Cammina Natura, the most beautiful hikes in Italy on October 25th and 26th.

On October 25 and 26, 2025, nature will once again take center stage with the seventh edition of Cammina Natura , the widespread event organized by Aigae – Italian Association of Environmental Hiking Guides – which invites you to slow down, take a deep breath and be enchanted by the beauty of the Italian landscape.
What is it about? In hundreds of stops scattered from North to South, the Environmental Guides will lead you along little-traveled paths, along trails that reveal the hidden riches of the Bel Paese : minor places, forgotten corners, natural parks, assets confiscated from the mafia returned to the community, precious ecosystems to be preserved and stories that unite the environment, history and culture.
A free, inclusive, and widespread opportunity to rediscover the value of hiking not only as a physical activity, but as an experience of connecting with the territory and its communities: Cammina Natura is a way to actively participate in a vision of responsible tourism , a circular economy, and collective memory.
In addition to hiking and cycling excursions (including at unusual times like dawn or night), the program includes visits to properties confiscated from the mafia in collaboration with the Libera association. On October 25th, these experiences will be available in Tuscany , Calabria, Basilicata, and Puglia, while on October 26th, it will be the turn of Emilia-Romagna. A sense of belonging, memory, and social reuse thus meet the wonder of the landscapes and the pleasure of walking.
Five must-see excursions, combining nature, history, and legality.Among the hundreds of excursions offered by Cammina Natura, we've selected five that express (in different ways) the charm of the landscape, the power of shared travel, and the importance of rediscovering what often remains marginalized.
Sunset among the Prosecco HillsIn Farra di Soligo , in the heart of the Prosecco Hills, the harmony between man and nature has created a landscape that is now recognized as a World Heritage Site : the expert hands of generations of winemakers have gently shaped the hills and transformed the land into a mosaic of vineyards, narrow streets and villages suspended in time.
On Saturday, October 25th , environmental guide Mattia Pertile will lead participants on a roughly four-hour hike along an 8-kilometer route that winds through gentle elevation changes and breathtaking views. The most evocative moment? When the sun begins to set, turning the Prosecco vines gold and copper.
San Leo: Between spirituality, mystery, and spectacular landscapesThe charm of San Leo , in the province of Rimini, lies in the intersection of history, legend, and nature. On Saturday, October 25th , the guided excursion led by Massimo Ruggeri takes participants on a walking tour in the shadow of the famous fortress, where the stories of the Count of Cagliostro and Franciscan spirituality intertwine.
The trail passes through a forest of intense autumn colors, offering moments of pure wonder. The six-kilometer route also offers a rare opportunity: to get up close to the landslide that devastated Italy's ancient capital, a natural event that left profound scars on the landscape and the region's memory. Three hours to immerse yourself in a place that enchants and questions.
Discovering the Stirone and Piacenziano ParksOn Sunday, October 26th, you can explore an area unique in its environmental value and civic significance. The excursion begins at Podere Millepioppi , a property confiscated from the Mafia and now home to the Stirone and Piacenziano Park, just outside Salsomaggiore Terme. Environmental guides Annalisa Guaraldo and Antonio Consoli will lead a trail along the Stirone River , where geological strata emerge that reveal the ancient marine past of these lands.
Walking for about three and a half hours along a 12.5 kilometer route, you will have the opportunity to read the history of the Earth in its sediments, but also to reflect on the value of the common good and the transformative power of legality.

In the heart of Calabria's Costa Viola, on Saturday, October 25th, we set out from Palmi for a hike that truly embraces the sea and the mountains. The climb begins among olive groves and ancient paths, reaching the evocative caves of "Pignarelle" and "Trachina," stone treasure chests that hold silence and stories.
Guides Andrea Laurenzano and Giuseppe Tripodi will accompany hikers to the Rovaglioso cove , where the sea suddenly opens up between the rocks, offering one of the most poetic views in the entire region. The approximately 10-kilometer hike will also cross lands once in the hands of organized crime, now returned to the community.
The Limestone Balcony of Monte MuroneFinally, in northwestern Sardinia , amid the scents of the pine forest and the Porto Conte Regional Natural Park , a trail winds its way through wartime memories and scenic wonders. On Sunday, October 26 , guide Gianluca Soru will accompany participants along the ancient military roads of World War II , where trenches, pillboxes, and firing positions tell the story of a landing that never happened, but was feared and prepared.
The short but intense two-hour hike takes you to the summit of Monte Murone : a limestone terrace overlooking Conte Bay and the Alghero harbour. From up there, nature unfolds in a 360-degree spectacle, with light, wind, and endless horizons.
