Premier Padel in Argentina: Jofre and Arroyo are the couple of the day, today the quarterfinals

If the first day of the Premier Padel Buenos Aires P1 had been one of marathons, with nine matches ending in the third set, only in one of the 16 round of 16 - counting those of the men's and women's draws - was the decisive set played. And it was the match in which the surprise of the day occurred: the victory of Inigo Jofre and Alex Arroyo (seeded number 14) over Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto (4). A two-hour and 52-minute battle that took Jofre and Arroyo to the quarterfinals at Parque Roca , where Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini will be waiting for them. The other top seeds are all in place: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (1) will face Edu Alonso and Jairo Bautista (8), in an upper part that also includes the match between Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz (5) and the pair formed by Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk (3). In the lower part, however, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) have left only three games (6-2 6-1) to José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri : in the quarterfinals, starting at 9 local time (14 CET), the 'Chingalan' find Juan Tello and Martin Di Nenno (6) in the last match of the morning session.
WOMEN In the women's draw, two couples not included among the seeds have reached the quarterfinals: Martina Calvo and Aranzazu Osoro , after eliminating Ortega/Alonso , confirmed their success with a 6-3 6-0 victory over Fassio/Nogueira and today they will face Sofia Araujo and Andrea Ustero (4), while Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga dominated (6-1 6-1) against Maria Virginia Riera and Raquel Eugenio and will find Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3) in their path. Josemaria/Sanchez (1)-Sainz/Llaguno (6) and Icardo/Jensen (8)-Brea/Triay (2) are the other challenges.
