Basketball: Final phase of the Estathé 3x3 Italia finals presented in Riccione

The Final Phase of the Estathé 3×3 Italia Finals 2025, the Open category, was presented this morning in Riccione. This final event marks the Estathé 3×3 Italia Streetbasket Circuit , the 3×3 circuit organized by the Italian Basketball Federation in collaboration with Master Group Sport. The tour, which began in Alba (CN) on May 31, has reached 18 Italian regions in two months, with over 100 tournaments across the Elite Circuit (Master and Top tournaments) and the Classic Circuit. The 16 men's and 12 women's teams that will participate in the final event that will award the 2025 Open titles were announced on the courts set up in Piazzale Roma. The winning men's team will also earn a pass to the Debrecen stage (August 29-31) of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, the most important 3×3 tour in the world.
For the first time, the Romagna town will host senior and youth athletes on the same stage (under-14, under-16, and under-18 finals, both men's and women's), demonstrating an increasingly inclusive and engaging tour that emphasizes a sense of belonging to the 3x3 world. The Estathé 3x3 Italia Finals 2025 are sponsored by the Municipality of Riccione and are part of the program of sporting events supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region to enhance the area and attract tourists. The Finals were presented by Fabrizio Gavelli, President and CEO of Ferrero Commerciale Italia; Roberta Frisoni, Councilor for Tourism, Commerce, and Sport for the Emilia-Romagna Region; Simone Imola, Councilor for Sport for the Municipality of Riccione; Maurizio Bertea, Secretary General of the Italian Basketball Federation; and Antonio Santa Maria, General Manager of Master Group Sport.
Fabrizio Gavelli, President and CEO of Ferrero Commerciale Italia, said: "We are delighted to be able to contribute to the growth of Street Basketball in Italy because we have always been close to the world of sport and its values. We are proud of the ever-expanding involvement of the entire youth sector, demonstrating the importance of sport for a healthy lifestyle, as a means of mutual understanding, respect, and inclusion, where fun comes first. Estathé brought joy and fun to every square, ready to quench thirsts with its unique and unmistakable flavor. We are delighted that the 2025 Opening Tournament took place in Alba, where Ferrero has its roots."
Roberta Frisoni, Councilor for Tourism, Commerce, and Sport for the Emilia-Romagna Region, added: "This event is an integral part of the Emilia-Romagna Region's rich 2025 sports calendar, and we are delighted to be celebrating it in Riccione, one of the iconic cities of our beautiful Riviera," said Regional Councilor for Tourism and Sport, Roberta Frisoni. "After an exciting series of events throughout Italy, including four in Emilia-Romagna, the best teams will compete for the national title in an event that combines sport, entertainment, and urban passion. And Riccione, with its youthful and dynamic spirit, is the perfect setting for this eagerly awaited event for 3x3 basketball fans. I thank the FIP and the Municipality for the excellent teamwork that made this final event, organized by Master Group Sport, possible. I am confident that, as always, the entire region will actively participate in the success of this event, which is characterized by inclusiveness and healthy competition. We therefore invite everyone to participate, cheer, and experience it." a one-of-a-kind experience: the playground awaits you.”
Simone Imola, Councilor for Sport for the Municipality of Riccione, said: "We are very happy and proud to host one of the most beautiful and spectacular events in our city's sports calendar: the Finals of the Estathé 3x3 Italia circuit. Riccione, once again, confirms itself as a city with a strong and deep-rooted sporting spirit, capable of welcoming all types of disciplines and athletes: young and old, competitive and amateur. For us, sport is a tool for personal growth, social inclusion, and cohesion between generations and regions. 3x3 basketball, with its urban soul, fast pace, and ability to bring the game into the streets, among the people, perfectly embodies these values. Piazzale Roma, a symbol of our city overlooking the sea, is transformed for four days into an open-air arena, where talent, energy, and passion for sport blend with the entertainment and enthusiasm of the public. And this is precisely the image of Riccione we want to convey: a lively, dynamic, and welcoming city. A special thanks goes to the Federation Italian Basketball and Master Group Sport for choosing Riccione as the venue for the national finals: a confirmation of the trust that the national and international sporting world places in our city and in its organisational and hospitality capacity that distinguishes it"
Maurizio Bertea, General Secretary of the Italian Basketball Federation, emphasized: "The Estathé 3x3 Italia Finals are now a regular fixture in Emilia-Romagna, which has hosted us since 2021; for the first time, we are in Riccione, in an iconic location like Piazzale Roma. A heartfelt thank you to the Region and the Municipality for their hospitality and invaluable support. Over the years, the Estathé 3x3 Italia Streetbasket Circuit has grown in every aspect: participation, visibility, and technical quality. This achievement was possible thanks to the work of the Promoters, Master Group Sport, and the support of important partners, starting with Estathé, Title Sponsor of the circuit for the past four years. The fifth edition of the Estathé 3x3 Italia Streetbasket Circuit, now coming to a close, was an extraordinary success, with over 100 tournaments across the region that involved thousands of fans in Italian squares. The Italian Basketball Federation is continuing to invest in the 3x3 movement, working, with the help of the Regional Committees, on the training of referees and officials. "We are very proud of our commitment to the field and youth activities, which this season have been closely linked to the senior circuit. For the first time, the same location will host the Open and Youth Finals: a concrete sign of growth, belonging, and inclusiveness, of which we are particularly proud. Riccione hosts top-level athletes, confirming the quality achieved by the circuit. We also look with confidence to the future of Italy: in September, the National 3x3 Open Men's Team will return to the Europe Cup after a nine-year absence. The goal is to grow further, with the aim of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games with both the Men's and Women's National Teams."
Finally, Antonio Santa Maria, General Manager of Master Group Sport, said: "We are delighted to have brought the Estathé 3x3 Italia Finals to Riccione for the first time. The 3x3 Open, U18, U16, and U14 titles are awarded in this historic and beautiful venue. It was an exciting circuit, kicking off for the second time in Alba, marking the start of the fifth edition of the Estathé 3x3 Italia Streetbasket Circuit. This circuit is constantly growing, with extraordinary numbers and the ability to engage a diverse audience. This year, we once again hosted over 100 tournaments throughout Italy, demonstrating the great and consistent work of the Italian Basketball Federation and Master Group Sport, along with all the promoters. A special thank you to the Ferrero Group, which, with its Estathé brand, has supported us again this year as the title sponsor of the circuit."
