Meloni receives Milei, Action Plan 2025-2030 adopted. Eni-Ypf agreement on liquefied natural gas

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentine President Javier Milei "have adopted the Italy-Argentina Action Plan 2025-2030 - which they announced during President Meloni's visit to Buenos Aires in November 2024 - with the aim of giving further impetus and strategic projection to the relationship between Italy and Argentina through the identification of specific objectives and tools".
This was reported in a joint statement published on the government website while the meeting between the two leaders is still underway at Palazzo Chigi. The meeting, it is explained, "focused attention on strengthening the already solid bilateral partnership between Italy and Argentina, founded on shared values and a deep historical-cultural bond between the two nations".
The meeting "allowed us to review the main issues on the international agenda and to reiterate" among other things "their respective support for collaboration between the European Union and the regional organization of Mercosur".
On the sidelines of the meeting, "the agreement exchange ceremony between Eni and YPF SA was held, in the presence of the two managing directors, relating to the 'Argentina LNG' project, for the production, transportation, liquefaction and export of gas produced by the Vaca Muerta field".
The meeting lasted about two hours.
