Daniela Santanché, new legal troubles: a former company goes bankrupt and a new defamation trial

Another company linked to the bio-food group, previously led by Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché and her former partner Giovanni Canio Mazzaro, recently went bankrupt. This new chapter could open up delicate judicial scenarios, with the start of possible investigations for bankruptcy crimes that risk further complicating the legal situation of the former leaders of the company.
Daniela Santanché ready for new defamation trialThe receivership was initiated following a lawsuit filed by small shareholders, assisted by the lawyer Antonio Piantadosi and led by Giuseppe Zeno. Zeno himself then reported the minister for defamation in relation to statements made by Santanché during a briefing to the Senate on 5 July 2023. The Court of Rome has ruled that Santanché will have to face trial, set for 16 September. “The court,” Zeno commented, “recognized that Santanché’s words were damaging to me.”
Daniela Santanché, a former company of the minister goes bankruptThe Court of Milan has ordered the judicial liquidation of Ki Group Holding spa , following the bankruptcies of Ki Group srl and Bioera spa, the parent company of which Santanché was president until 2021. The minister is already under investigation for bankruptcy related to the collapse of Ki Group srl and could receive new charges following the latest bankruptcies.
Santanché is also involved in other proceedings for false accounting and aggravated fraud against INPS, linked to the Visibilia publishing group, under investigation by the same Milan prosecutors who requested liquidation for the bio-food holding, in addition to tax disputes for over 400 thousand euros by the Revenue Agency.
The judges highlight Ki Group Holding's inability to meet its debts , estimated at around 1.4 million euros in taxes and contributions, and a negative net worth of over 6.5 million. Bankruptcy was already expected in May, after the failure to file the composition plan requested by the company.
