After the tax audits involving several recreational and cultural clubs in Valdarno, the regional group leader of the Democratic Party Vincenzo Ceccarelli announces an initiative in the Regional Council to shed full light on the matter and protect the social value of these entities.

“It is right that the institutions verify compliance with the rules, but it is equally fundamental to distinguish between commercial enterprises and clubs created to promote participation and social ties in the territories – states Ceccarelli –. In many towns in the Valdarno, as in all of Tuscany, clubs are the only meeting places and cultural initiatives. We cannot allow them to be penalized by rigid and punitive interpretations.”

Ceccarelli reiterates the commitment of the Partito Democratico group in the Regional Council to safeguard these experiences. “We will present a document to clarify what is happening. It is our duty to defend those who, for years, have worked for the common good with a voluntary spirit, be they secular or Catholic.”

The regional councilor for social policies Serena Spinelli is also involved in the matter, and is closely following the situation in dialogue with the associative world.
