Brussels, FVG-Carinthia cooperation ever closer

For 20 years, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has hosted the Austrian Land of Carinthia in its European home in Brussels, giving rise to an increasingly close collaboration between the two entities as highlighted by the President of the FVG Regional Council, Mauro Bordin, during the celebrations organized in the headquarters of Rue de Commerce 49, in the presence of the Carinthian President and Vice President, Peter Kaiser and Martin Gruber. "Our collaboration - Bordin recalled, also bringing greetings from Governor Massimiliano Fedriga - boasts a much longer history, characterized by institutional-operational relationships that are fundamental for the respective territories. Now, in a context of a European Union with geopolitical tensions at the door with still uncertain dynamics, problems of a commercial tariff nature linked to duties and difficulties in promoting the climate-energy and digital transition with a view to economic sustainability, the joint action between FVG and Carinthia must be further intensified".
“An objective – added the president of the Fvg Legislative Assembly – to be pursued in the light of shared values and interests such as, for example, the valorization of the principles of regional and local autonomy in order to allow that, while respecting the diversity of individual communities, the guidelines issued by Brussels are actually reflected on site”. These concepts are in line with the intervention of the Carinthian governor, Kaiser, who underlined how “cooperation makes us stronger day after day”. “This is why – concluded Bordin – it must be consolidated over time to guarantee effective and timely mobility to those who continually move between one region and another, giving life to an exchange economy that finds its outlet in multiple sectors, not least tourism with food and wine representing an important attraction”.
