Stock Markets Worsen With Middle East Crisis

The conflict in the Middle East is worrying and depressing the risk appetite of the markets.

European stock markets worsen after mid-session. Milan, Paris and Madrid lose more than one point.

The luxury and fashion sectors are particularly heavy at Piazza Affari, among the first to feel the effects of geopolitical tensions.

Cucinelli and Moncler are falling, but the worst stock is Telecom. Energy stocks are holding up, especially Eni.

Wall Street closed today for a holiday.

Energy prices are also on the rise. Oil is up to $77.6 per barrel, up 11% from a week ago. Natural gas is rising sharply, rising to over €40 per kwh in Amsterdam.
