Mattarella Appoints the Knights of Labor. Among the 25 Also Descalzi, Milleri and Caltagirone Jr

MILAN – The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella , has appointed the new Knights of Labor . The 25 newly awarded the honor hold prominent positions in Italian industry and manufacturing, such as the CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi , the Chairman and CEO of EssilorLuxottica, Francesco Milleri , and Francesco Caltagirone Jr , manager at the helm of the family business Cementir Holding and son of the Roman entrepreneur Francesco Gaetano, who has been a Knight since 2006.

The appointments span a wide range of sectors. From the world of fashion come Alfonso Dolce , CEO of Dolce & Gabbana and brother of the designer Domenico, Patrizio Bertelli , president of Prada and husband of the designer Miuccia Prada, as well as sailor and creator of the Luna Rossa team, Leonardo Ferragamo , president of the family brand Salvatore Ferragamo and of the Lungarno Alberghi hotel chain, and finally Maria Giovanna Paone , president and creative director of the Neapolitan fashion house Kiton.
A flurry of honors also for industrialists, starting with Fulvio Scannapieco (president of the aerospace company Ala), Federica Minozzi (CEO of Iris Ceramiche), Giuseppe Basile (coming from the world of steel), Cesare Benedetti (pharmaceuticals), Ezio Bracco (energy systems), Valentino Campagnolo (components), Alberto Dossi (chemistry), Anna Beatrice Ferrino (textiles), Massimo Pavin (plastic materials), Luisa Quadalti Senzani (mechanics), Laura Ruggiero (metalworking).
Two names belong to the wine industry, Piero Mastroberardino and Vittorio Moretti , and three to the tertiary sector: Roberto Angelini Rossi (chemistry), Rinaldo Ballerio (IT services) and Giovanni Rubini (construction engineering). Closing the list are Marina Nissim , manager of large-scale distribution, and Giuliano Tosti , sole director of a company that supplies veterinary products.
