Valentina Iannaco's 'I Had Beautiful Eyes', presented in Rome on November 14th

At the heart of the volume is the story of Anna Borsa, a victim of femicide.
On March 1, 2022, in Pontecagnano (Salerno), Anna Borsa, a 30-year-old woman, was killed by her ex-partner. That morning, the killer went to the salon where she worked as a hairdresser, followed her into the closet where she had gone to wash her hands, and shot her in the temple. This tragic story is recounted by Valentina Iannaco in the book "I Had Beautiful Eyes. The Story of Anna Borsa, Victim of Femicide," published by Armando Editore, which will be presented in Rome on Friday, November 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the Refectory Hall of the Nilde Iotti Library of the Chamber of Deputies.
In 2024, Vincenzo Borsa, Anna's brother, founded the Anna Borsa Association to raise awareness about gender-based violence and keep his sister's memory alive. In this book, Anna herself tells her story in a monologue made up of narratives, thoughts, memories, and words spoken and unsaid. Valentina Iannaco, born in Salerno in 1986, is a Web Copywriter. With degrees in Languages in the Information Society and in Modern Languages and Literatures and Intercultural Translation, over the years she has specialized in Digital Communication and Web Writing. "Avevo gli occhi belli" (I Had Beautiful Eyes) is her first experience writing a book.
The presentation will be attended by the author: clinical criminologist Cinzia Mammoliti, a pioneer in Italy in relational manipulation, specializing in psychological and domestic violence; lawyer Roberta Mori, national spokesperson for the Conference of Democratic Women and member of the Democratic Party's National Secretariat responsible for "Feminism, the Fight against Patriarchy, and Equal Opportunities"; and Lella Palladino, sociologist, feminist, and anti-violence center activist, as well as founding member and vice president of the Una Nessuna Centomila Foundation. Moderating will be Mauro Valentini, journalist and writer for Armando Editore.
