Thirty-five years of house music: Crew Chosen Few from the White House to Rama Beach

by Luca Antonio Pepe
From the White House to Naples to celebrate 35 years of activity, thanks to the Angels of Love organization: this is the ever-rising journey of the legends of the Chicago Crew Chosen Few, who on September 14, 2025, will host the Chosen Few Picnic & Festival at Rama Beach, one of the most iconic events in global house music. Among their biggest fans is Barack Obama himself, who, as US President, celebrated the Crew with a video, later inviting them to the Oval Office, thanking them for their influence on music and global culture. Now it's the turn of the Varcaturo location, the first European stop for world-renowned DJs and producers like Terry Hunter, Alan King, and Wayne Williams, along with special guests Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez (NYC), Shawn Christopher, and Teefa (Chicago). Supporting them will be Italian talents DJ Simi, DJ Fiore, JG Bros, and Dapuleo. The event will be held in a natural oasis, complete with comfortable areas, food and cocktail spaces, and a splendid view of the sea. The Chosen Few Picnic & Festival is more than just a musical event, but a true gathering of house music enthusiasts. Each year, more than 40,000 people gather at Jackson Park in the heart of Chicago, representing one of the most significant events on the global music scene. This year, for the first time, the event is coming to Europe, bringing to Naples the legacy of a tradition that continues to grow and captivate house music enthusiasts from every corner of the globe. Not to mention the little ones (free admission for those 13 and under), who will be welcomed into a dedicated kids' area equipped with inflatables and various activities, with educators to look after the children while parents can enjoy themselves. "As per tradition, a portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to charity, thus continuing to support important charities, as we have already done with Lega del Filo d'Oro, the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, and Autism Aid. While we have previously dedicated ourselves to those less fortunate, this time our commitment will be to protecting the environment. That's why during the event, our volunteers will also create mock turtle nests, explaining how to recognize them and the importance of protecting these fragile and extraordinary creatures that populate our seas and nest on our beaches," conclude the Angels of Love, announcing the event on Sunday, September 14th, from 11:00 a.m. until midnight.
