Exhibitions: An exhibition dedicated to Enrico Berlinguer opens in Florence starting September.

More than 40 years after the death of Enrico Berlinguer , and exactly 50 years after his last rally at the Cascine Park in Florence, which attracted four marches of one million people, the Tuscan capital will host the exhibition “The Places and Words of Berlinguer,” dedicated to the life, career, political fortune, and moral legacy of the secretary of the Italian Communist Party from 1972 to 1984. The exhibition will be on display at the Mandela Forum sports center from September 3 to October 5 and will focus in particular on Berlinguer's commitment to peace. The exhibition, conceived and organised by the Enrico Berlinguer Association for the conservation and valorisation of the cultural heritage of the Italian left, in collaboration with the Gramsci Foundation, was previously set up in Rome at the Mattatoio, Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, in Bologna at the Civic Archaeological Museum, in Sardinia in Sassari at the Tavolara Pavilion and in Cagliari at the covered promenade of the Bastione di Saint Remy, reaching a total of over 131,000 visitors.
