Crimes in Milan in the 1950s, but written in the second decade of the 21st century. They feature Commissioner Mario Arrigoni and his team based in Porta Venezia, men of varying ages and abilities: some are more pronounced, others less so. Reconstructing the atmosphere of a city reviving and revitalizing, with an economic boom just around the corner, after the terrible war years is Dario Crapanzano, a writer and advertising executive with a degree in law and a diploma in drama, along with his classmate Mariangela Melato.

Among the inspector's nine adventures, there's truly an embarrassment of choice, but the third, titled "Arrigoni and the Crime on Via Brera," marks a turning point, because from the tenement houses and suburbs of his early days, he arrives in the heart of Milan. Where, on a hot July day like this, a renowned architect and advertising executive is found dead on his desk by an employee noted for her sheer beauty. The victim was indeed a successful man, but with a dangerous dark side. Arrigoni, of course, will bring the light to the fore.
