Castronno - Varese between yesterday and today: stories, secrets and urban transformations - - Varese News

A journey through the past and present of Varese, where forgotten stories and hidden secrets intertwine with the transformations that have shaped the city over the decades. Fausto Bonoldi and Samuele Corsalini , both experts in local urban evolution, will accompany us to discover a side of Varese that few know, revealing how the city has been able to adapt and renew itself without losing its historical identity. From the memory of the oldest streets to the new urban spaces, every corner tells a metamorphosis that deserves to be rediscovered.

The meeting, which will be held on Thursday 5 June at 9:00 pm at Materia Spazio Libero (Via Confalonieri 5 Sant'Alessandro Castronno), will offer a reflection on how Varese has faced and responded to the challenges of the time, without giving up its distinctive character.

Fausto Bonoldi , author of the column “Urban Metamorphosis” on VareseNews, will be the protagonist of a narration that will explore the architectural and urban changes that have characterized the city. With his approach rich in historical details and timely analysis, Bonoldi will guide the public to the discovery of places and monuments that, despite being under everyone's eyes, carry with them fascinating and unknown stories. His ability to intertwine collective memory with the modern developments of the city will make this meeting an unmissable opportunity to understand how Varese has managed to combine its tradition with the dynamism of contemporaneity.

Alongside Bonoldi, Samuele Corsalini, a young author and historian, will offer a more contemporary vision of urban transformations. Corsalini has created the Instagram page “Quel che non sai di Varese”, where he tells the story of the city through short videos and historical curiosities. His book, “Quel che non sai di Varese: Piccole storie, grandi meraviglie”, collects over 300 curiosities and 150 images of the Varese of the past, offering a journey through the folds of the city’s history and culture. Corsalini will bring to the stage the details of recent transformations, such as the redevelopment of formerly industrial areas or the creation of new social spaces, and will reflect on how these interventions have influenced the daily lives of citizens and on the future challenges of reconciling growth and sustainability.
