Andrea Cirino at Umbria Libri 2025: "Three Minutes" thrills Perugia

PERUGIA. Among the prominent names at the new edition of Umbria Libri 2025 , along with Dacia Maraini , Paolo Mori , Bignami , and many other nationally renowned authors, was the writer Andrea Cirino , the protagonist on Saturday 25 October at the Arconi Library in Perugia , where he presented his novel “Tre Minuti” .
The meeting, moderated by criminal lawyer Arturo Bonsignore , offered the public an intense moment of reflection and discussion on the themes of freedom , injustice and human resilience .
"Three Minutes" tells the story of Benny , a young high school student who, because of a prank, ends up in prison. The book follows his difficult journey of survival in a hostile environment, where every encounter and every suffering shapes him, making him more aware of human fragility. After regaining a brief freedom, Benny is imprisoned again, this time as an innocent man, and must face a new battle to breathe life again.
A novel that moves between life and death , guilt and redemption , touching deep chords of the human soul. Cirino explores, with lucid and emotional writing, the contradictions of society and the hope that endures even in the darkest places.
The author, warmly welcomed by the Perugia public, defined his participation in Umbria Libri as “ an exciting experience of great cultural value ”, adding:
Are you ready to experience a literary emotion? This book is about life, death, and reflection, but above all, freedom. I thank everyone who shared this journey of words with me.
With his presence in Perugia, Andrea Cirino confirms his journey as a writer capable of combining sensitivity, commitment, and authenticity. An author who—with Tre Minuti —has left a strong mark on the contemporary narrative landscape.
