Varese - The Ensemble de Saxophones' Halloween musical pranks in Como and Varese - - Varese News

Appointment on the evening of October 31st with a "scary" repertoire including soundtracks of great films and songs full of energy
Chills, mysterious atmospheres, and plenty of great music: these are the ingredients of the two special evenings offered by the Ensemble de Saxophones di Varese for Halloween. The group, directed by Maestro Giuseppina Levato, is preparing to enchant audiences with "Due Note... da Paura!", a double horror-themed concert scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th in Como and Thursday, October 31st in Varese, with a repertoire that promises thrills, fun, and a few surprises.
Concert in Como: The Magic of Carducci
The first event will be held in Como on Wednesday, October 30th at 8:30 pm, at the G. Carducci Association at Viale Cavallotti 7, one of the symbolic venues of Como's cultural life. "Playing in a place so rich in history and inspiration is an honor," stated Maestro Levato. "Our goal is to bring ensemble music to life from the earliest years of study, because that's where the true spirit of the ensemble is born."
Representatives of the Carducci Association also emphasized the importance of this synergy: "A special place, steeped in history, where ideas have met and generations have interacted for over 100 years."
The return to Varese: "home" music and a new CD
The following day, Thursday, October 31st, the music returns home: the Ensemble will perform at the Auditorium of the Malipiero Civic Music High School in Varese, at Via Garibaldi 4, the historic location of their weekly rehearsals. On this occasion, they will also present their new CD, entirely dedicated to their more sinister repertoire, a collection of music perfectly in tune with the Halloween atmosphere.
A thrilling program… and one to sing along to
The two-evening program is designed to evoke the charm and tension of the horror world, alternating iconic and entertaining songs:
“Psycho” by Alfred Hitchcock
“Ghostbusters,” a timeless classic
“The Phantom of the Opera,” between thrills and lyricism
AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" to close with energy
All presented in original arrangements for saxophone ensemble, sure to delight even the most discerning listeners. The goal? To offer a different kind of Halloween, filled with musical pranks and sweet melodies, in the company of one of the region's longest-running and most beloved bands.
