Seismic improvement works at the former hospital

July 17, 2025

The future Community House should see the light next year and will also bring with it the strengthening of outpatient services
While work continues at the former city hospital, funded with over €2.2 million in National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) funds for seismic improvements, the municipal administration, in conjunction with the management of Fermo's Local Health Authority (AST), is already beginning to think about the future—when the work is completed and the community center can be opened for redevelopment. This goal is expected to be achieved over the next year and, again according to forecasts, will also involve expanding outpatient services. Indeed, there is currently talk of opening an outpatient and surgical dermatology unit soon. Meanwhile, staying current, Mayor Endrio Ubaldi, AST Director Roberto Grinta, and engineer Rocco Tirabasso (director of the technical area) recently inspected the hospital construction site. Mauro Lucentini was also present. Construction of the "dissipative" towers (an innovative system for seismic protection) is in an advanced stage. If work proceeds at the current pace, the project should be completed by the fall. Ubaldi and the Montegranaro administration thanked Director Grinta for his work on a hospital facility that is dear to the city. Thanks to these improvements, the project will offer greater safety for both staff and patients, especially with a view to expanding the services offered.
