Man Throws Knives at Police in Paris, Killed

A man who threw knives at a group of officers "without saying a word" was killed by police in Dugny, in the Seine-Saint-Denis area, north of Paris. The French capital's police headquarters said one of the officers first used an "electric gun" but was unable to stop the man. Another officer then "used his weapon", injuring the man in the chest, who died despite the intervention of emergency services.
According to the reconstruction of the prefecture, the man "threw himself" against a patrol of police officers armed with two knives at around 7 this morning. "When the patrol arrived - the prefecture said - the man threw himself on them without saying a word". Injured, he was given cardiac massage to revive him but "despite the treatment the man died". The investigation has been entrusted to the Seine-Saint-Denis police, while the General Inspection of the National Police will investigate the use of service weapons by the officers.
