Falling temperatures and some rain: here's the weekend weather forecast.

Temperatures are dropping, with highs barely exceeding 30 degrees Celsius during the penultimate weekend of August and sudden showers. Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist and media manager at iLMeteo.it , confirms the drop in temperatures even in the South, reaching temperatures locally below the period average.

In the next few hours, in fact, we will have showers and thunderstorms in the North-East and the Lower Tyrrhenian Sea, then in the Central Adriatic and the Southern peninsula: white clouds, harmless plump cumulus clouds, could suddenly transform into dark cumulonimbus clouds with rapid thunderstorms.

Further showers will form in the Tri-Veneto area this evening, while clearer weather will prevail in the rest of the country.

Sunday will be sunnier, although there will be occasional showers, especially in the north, that will be more spring-like than summer-like. Between Piedmont and Liguria, we'll also see a widespread increase in cloud cover, while in central and southern Italy, sunshine will accompany a slight rise in temperatures. This will make for a weekend that will be more reminiscent of May than August.

The new week will reset the calendar: summery temperatures are expected again, without excesses in the North but with extraordinary anomalies in the South: in other words, we will return to around 31-32°C in the Center-North, while in the South the thermometer could surprise us with 37-38°C.

So summer isn't over yet, much to the delight of millions of Italians who have yet to begin their holidays.
