Mourning in the world of football. Liverpool player Diogo Jota died in a car accident in Spain. Portuguese international, he was 28 years old and had married just 10 days ago, on June 22, with his girlfriend, Rute Cardoso. They had met in high school and had 3 children. Two boys and a girl, the latter born last November.

Diogo Jota's brother also died in the accident

The accident occurred in Zamora, in northern Spain. According to initial investigations, the Lamborghini in which Jota was traveling with his brother, a 26-year-old Penafiel player who also died, suffered a tire explosion during an overtaking. The vehicle went off the road and caught fire. Diogo Jota was spending a vacation waiting for the start of pre-season training with Liverpool.
