Castelveccana - Search continues for missing youth in lake - Varese Laghi - Varese News
The search for the young man who disappeared after a dive into Lake Maggiore in Castelveccana , in the Fornaci di Caldè area, continued without success throughout the night between Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd.
The Fire Brigade has prepared a special vehicle that serves as a mobile operations room and command post to coordinate search and rescue operations; in the water, both a dinghy and personnel from the Diving Unit , specialized in this type of intervention, were used.
Unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful. The young man, a 21-year-old of foreign origin, had dived into the lake around 3:30 PM on Friday afternoon but had not resurfaced. The alarm was raised within minutes with the arrival of ambulances from Luino, the Fire Department, and the Coast Guard vessel. However, since then, there has been no news of the boy.
