Bezos Changes Line at Washington Post, Editorial Chief Resigns

Jeff Bezos has emailed Washington Post staff about a change he's making to the paper's editorial section. "We will write every day in support and defense of two pillars: individual freedom and free markets," the billionaire wrote in the email. The move was praised by rival Elon Musk, who wrote on X: "Bravo Jeff Bezos!"
"We will also discuss other topics, of course, but the points of view contrary to these pillars will be left to others," stressed the owner of the prestigious newspaper. Bezos finally announced that he has entrusted "David Shipley, who I admire very much, to lead this new chapter".
"I am of America and for America, and proud of it. Much of our country's success has been due to economic and other freedoms. Freedom is ethical - it minimizes coercion - and practical - it stimulates creativity, invention, and prosperity," the Amazon boss wrote to the Washington Post staff.
After Bezos' decision, however, Shipley did not agree to remain head of the editorial page of the Washington Post.
"After much deliberation, David has decided to step back," Bezos himself announced after offering Shipley to stay. "I respect his decision, I asked him to be 100% convinced of the change or to leave," the millionaire added.
