Mercedes CLA: a show of strength

At Mercedes , the SUV is still relevant - a new GLC is being unveiled in ten days at the Munich Motor Show - but to accelerate the ecological transition, nothing replaces an architecture that favors efficiency and therefore autonomy, so as to remove the last obstacles to the adoption of the electric vehicle.

This is why the managers of the star-shaped company have taken the gamble of electrifying the third generation of the low-slung CLA sedan . At the cost of a few styling changes, the shapes have become rounded and refined, the aerodynamic Cx has managed to drop to 0.21, almost a record value in this emerging market of the zero-emission sedan. At the same time, the German engineers have managed to contain the mass to 2055 kg, a feat based on the new MMA (Mercedes Modular Architecture) platform operating at 800 volts.
