Var's Charlotte Escudero called up for the Rugby World Cup in England

Her presence was hardly in doubt, but Charlotte Escudero (24 years old, 26 caps) probably breathed a sigh of relief when the France XV staff revealed her name among the list of 32 players called up to defend the tricolor jersey during the World Cup in England (August 22 to September 27).

Three weeks before the start of the World Cup, the third line formed in Valletta, and which is currently making waves at Stade Toulousain, will thus be participating in its second World Cup, having already taken part in the World Cup in New Zealand in 2022.

At the time, the young Var player was just discovering international rugby. Three years later, the player who can play in all positions in the back row, but also in the second row, is an undisputed leader in the eyes of Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz, the co-selectors of the French XV.

The next match for the 32 selected players will be on August 9, with a friendly match against England, before the World Cup officially begins on August 23 for the Blues, with a first match against Italy in Exeter (9:15 p.m. French time).
